Description
The gasoline-powered 212 cc OHV 4-stroke engine is the heart of the Powerhorse LC4500i. It has a 120V output and a running power of 3,500W and a peak power of 4,500W. Also, since it can work in parallel (but doesn’t come with a parallel kit), its power can be increased by connecting it to a second unit that works with it. The noise level of the inverter generator is set at 57 dBA (The noise level is lower than that of a refrigerator). It has both a traditional pull-start mechanism and an electric starter that is convenient and easy to use (battery included). The LC4500i can run for up to 10 hours on a full tank of 2.6 gallons of fuel (fuel consumption is approximately 0.26 GPH). The LC4500i makes a clean sine wave. With a Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of less than 2%, you can safely plug sensitive electronics into its AC outlets.
Outlets
The control panel has 3 AC outlets: a duplex 120V 20A (5-20R) outlet, a 120V 30A (TT-30R) outlet, and a 120V 20A (TT-20R) outlet.
It also has 2 DC outlets: two 5V USB ports that make it easy to charge devices like cell phones or tablets. This Powerhorse generator is ready for an RV because it has a TT-30R (TT stands for “Travel Trailer”) plug.Features
The LC4500i’s control panel has a digital data center that tells you about the power output, lifetime run hours, and voltage so you can keep an eye on how it’s doing.
In addition to this information, the light indicators will tell you when the generator is overloaded, when its oil level is too low, and when it is ready. The inverter generator has a built-in fuel gauge that makes it quick, easy, and convenient to find out how much gas is in it.In terms of safety, the generator can be used without worry because it has a circuit breaker for overheating and an automatic shut-off when the oil level gets too low.The Powerhorse LC4500i comes with basic instructions and an owner’s manual to help you start the generator quickly. It also comes with a funnel and a tool kit, among other things.Mobility
As the Powerhorse LC4500i is an inverter generator, its encased design (L22.8x W17.3 x H20 in) offers more aesthetics than a conventional, open frame product.
The design shown here is in line with the latest trends and is great for easy and fun use.The LC4500i is 99 pounds, which means you can take it anywhere. Also, once it’s on the ground, you won’t have to work hard to move it because it has 4 wheels and a double handle.Product Videos

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
The Northern Tool & Equipment Company Inc.
owns and distributes gas-powered outdoor equipment under the Powerhorse brand name through its physical stores and website.Among the gas- and electric-powered instruments offered by Powerhorse are pressure washers, wood chippers and shredders, log splitters, electric generators, and inverters.Water pumps and engines are also available in the product line. The tagline of the company is “Power You Can Depend On”.Although they are produced in China, Powerhorse generators are designed, developed, and tested in Minnesota.Warranty Information
