Description
The Westinghouse WGen5300v has an OHV 4-stroke engine that is 274 cc. It gives out 120/240V, runs on gasoline, and has a running wattage of 5,300W and a peak wattage of 6,600W. The generator has a noise level of 68 dBA, which is less than an office. It is started with a pull-start mechanism. The WGen5300v can run for up to 14.5 hours on a full tank of fuel, which is 4.7 gallons (fuel consumption is approximately 0.32 GPH). Due to its relatively high THD (23%), the WGen5300v can’t be used to power sensitive electronic devices.
Outlets
The control panel has 4 AC outlets: a duplex 120V 20A (5-20R) outlet, a 120V 30A (TT-30R) outlet, and a 120V/240V 30A (L14-30R) outlet.
Because it has a TT-30R plug (TT stands for “Travel Trailer”), this Westinghouse generator is ready for an RV.The WGen5300v also has a twist-lock L14-30R receptacle, which makes it ready for a transfer switch. It is easy to connect to a breaker box and can power your home if the power goes out.Features
The WGen5300v’s control panel has a handy meter that shows voltage, frequency, and lifetime hours so you can keep an eye on its status and activity.
A built-in fuel gauge makes it easy and quick to check how much gas is in the generator. As far as safety goes, the device has an automatic shut-off for low oil and a circuit breaker for overheating, so you can use it without worrying. The Westinghouse WGen5300v package comes with a funnel, tool kit, and oil, as well as the basic paperwork and an owner’s manual that will help you start the generator right away. You can also buy a storage cover that is made by the company.Mobility
The Westinghouse WGen5300v has a standard, open frame that measures L23.2 x W20.1 x H19.1 in, This frame gives it support and lets it be lifted off the ground.
The generator is built to work well outside and in rough places.Even though this generator is technically “portable” in the sense that it can be moved, it is very hard to move by hand because it weighs 132.5 pounds. But its wheels and folding handle make it easier to move once it’s on the floor.Product Videos

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
The Westinghouse Electric Corporation was established in 1886, and its heritage business, Westinghouse Outdoor Power Equipment, is situated in the US.
The Westinghouse name continues to be the brand name for many of its electrical solutions, which range throughout the scale from power plants to portable generators, despite the fact that the firm has been acquired and integrated into the American CBS.The primary product of Westinghouse’s Outdoor Power Equipment division, portable generators were previously produced by Westpro Power Systems, which Midwest Equipment acquired in 2016.Under the Westinghouse brand, lawn tools including trimmers and blowers are also offered for sale.Their entire line of items is American-designed.However, according to a number of sites, they are frequently made in China.Warranty Information
A warranty covers the Westinghouse WGen5300v for up to 3 years.
This warranty may not cover all parts of the generator or may only cover certain parts.Check out Westinghouse’s warranty policies if you want to know more about the warranty on Westinghouse generators. You can also call their customer service line at 1-855-944-3571.
