The Honda EU1000i is made with a 49.4 cc Honda GXH50 OHV 4-stroke engine that runs on gasoline. It has a 120V output and a 900W running wattage and a 1,000W peak wattage. Also, the device can work in parallel (but does not come with parallel cables from Honda). This means that it can be connected to a similar or compatible device for more power. The pull-start mechanism on the inverter generator is simple and old-fashioned. It has a low noise rating of 42 dBA, which is just a little louder than bird calls. This puts it on our list of the ten quietest portable generators. With a full tank, the EU1000i can run for up to 6.8 hours on its 0.55-gallon fuel tank (fuel consumption is approximately 0.08 GPH). The EU1000i makes a clean sine wave. Its Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) is less than 3%, so you can safely plug sensitive electronics into its AC outlets.
On the control panel, there are two 120V 15A duplex outlets (5-15R).
The lights will let you know when the generator is overloaded, when the oil level is too low, and when the generator is ready. For safety, the generator has an automatic low oil shut-off (Oil Alert®) and an overload protection (circuit breaker), so you can use it without worrying. In addition to the features we’ve already talked about, the Honda EU1000i comes with the standard paperwork and an owner’s manual to help you get started right away. You can buy a storage cover from the company separately.
The Honda EU1000i is an inverter generator. It has a case that is L17.8 in, x W9.5 in, x H14.9 in, So, it looks better than most other products with open frames. The goal of this modern design is to give recreational users the best way to get power. The EU1000i is a portable generator that weighs only 28.7 lbs.Since one person can move it without much trouble, the generator and its power can be used anywhere. It can also be carried easily thanks to a handle that is built into the case. This makes it even more convenient. On our list of the 10 smallest portable generators, this one comes in at number 5.
The following charts show how some of the most important features of the Honda-EU1000i compare to other generators with the same power output.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
The Japanese Honda Motor Company, founded in 1948, has built a reputation for regularly delivering high-quality engines, motorized vehicles, and equipment. The business has built a solid name over the years in the power tool, motorbike, and vehicle industries.Since 1953, Honda’s power tool division has been manufacturing various power tools, such as tillers, mowers, blowers, sprayers, and of course, generators.Honda is still regarded as a legend among generator manufacturers even after the firm went worldwide and shifted the majority of its production from Japan to other Asian nations.
There is a warranty on the Honda EU1000i for up to 2 years. This warranty may not cover all parts of the generator or may only cover certain parts.Honda’s warranty policies can tell you more about how long the warranty on a Honda generator lasts. You can also call their customer service line at 1-770-497-6400.
