Description
The Rainier R4400 has a Rainier OHV 4-stroke engine with 212 cc and 5.9 hp. It has a 120V output, runs on gas, and has a running wattage of 3,600W and a peak wattage of 4,400W. The noise level of the generator is 69 dBA, which is less than an office. It has a pull-start mechanism and a simple, elegant electric starter (battery included). The R4400 can run for up to 18 hours on a full tank of fuel, which is 4 gallons (fuel consumption is approximately 0.22 GPH). Due to its relatively high THD (23%), the R4400 can’t be used to power sensitive electronic devices.
Outlets
On the control panel, there are 4 AC outlets for: Duplex 120V 20A (5-20R); 120V 30A (L5-30R) receptacle; 120V 30A (TT-30R) receptacle.
This Rainier generator is ready for an RV because it has a TT-30R (TT stands for “Travel Trailer”) receptacle.Features
The R4400’s control panel has a handy meter that shows voltage, frequency, and lifetime hours so you can keep an eye on its status and activity.
The generator has a built-in fuel gauge that makes it quick, easy, and convenient to find out how much gas is in it.From a safety point of view, the product has a circuit breaker for overload protection and an automatic shut-off for low oil, so you can use it without worry. In addition to the features listed above, the Rainier R4400 comes with the usual paperwork and an owner’s manual, which will help you get your generator up and running quickly.Mobility
The Rainier R4400 has a typical open frame that is L23.5 x W23 x H21 in, This gives it support and stability and gives you the option to raise it above ground level.
The design works well in rough places and for hard outdoor use.Even though this generator is technically “portable” in the sense that it can be moved, it is very hard to move by hand because it weighs 111 pounds.Once it is on the ground, it can still be moved easily with the help of its wheel kit (diameter: 8″) and its folding handle.Product Videos

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
