The A-iPower SUA8000iSF has a 459 cc OHV 4-stroke engine that puts out 120/240V, runs on gasoline, and puts out 7,000W while running and 8,000W at its peak. Also, the device can work in parallel (it comes with a parallel kit) and can be linked to a similar or compatible device for more power. This inverter generator has a noise level of 65 dBA, which is just a little louder than a normal conversation. It can be started with a pull-start mechanism or a simple and elegant electric starter (battery included). With 6.7 gallons of fuel, the SUA8000iSF can run for about 13 hours at 0.5 load if the tank is full (fuel consumption is approximately 0.52 GPH). The SUA8000iSF makes a clean sine wave with a Total Harmonic Distortion of 3%, so it’s safe to plug sensitive electronics into an AC outlet (THD).
The control panel has 6 AC outlets: two 120V 20A (5-20R) GFCI duplexes, a 120V 30A (L5-30R) GFCI plug, and a 120/240V 50A (14-50R) plug. Also, it has 2 DC outlets: a 12V 8A receptacle (like a cigarette lighter) that makes it easy to charge your batteries, and a 5V USB port that makes it easy to charge devices like cell phones and tablets. This A-iPower generator isn’t quite RV Ready, but it has an L5-30R receptacle that makes it easy to connect to an RV with an L5-30P to TT-30R adapter.
The SUA8000iSF’s control panel has a handy meter that shows voltage, frequency, and lifetime hours. This makes it easy to keep track of its status and activity. In addition to this information, the device’s light indicators will show if the generator is ready, if the oil level is too low, or if the generator is overloaded. The inverter generator has a built-in fuel gauge that makes it easy to see at a glance how much gas is in the tank. When it comes to safety, this product has an automatic low oil shut-off and an overload protection (circuit breaker), so you can use it without worry. The A-iPower SUA8000iSF comes with oil, a tool kit, and battery charging cables, as well as the usual documentation and an owner’s manual to get you up and running quickly.
The A-iPower SUA8000iSF looks better than a typical open frame generator because it has a closed inverter generator (L29 x W24 x H28 in).The generator has a modern look and is easy to use when generating power for fun.The generator weighs 231 pounds, so it may be hard to move or transport it by hand, even though it is technically considered “portable” (movable).Still, the generator is easy to move once it’s on the ground because it has 4 wheels and a double handle that’s built into the case. This is a good way to make up for the fact that it’s not very maneuverable.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
A-iPower, a small US-based business, is a new player in the generator industry. They sell engines, water pumps, pressure washers, and of course generators as part of their product line.Numerous conventional and inverted portable generators, many of which feature an electric starter, are available from A-iPower.The business has a number of locations, including a distribution hub in Wisconsin and a headquarters in California. But the entire manufacturing of their products is outsourced to China.
A warranty covers the A-iPower SUA8000iSF for up to 2 years. This warranty may not cover all parts of the generator or may only cover certain parts.A-iPower generators come with a warranty that you can find out more about by calling A-iPower Customer Support at 1-855-888-3598.
