The Champion 200921’s 224cc OHV 4-stroke engine runs on gasoline and can put out 120/240V. It has a running power of 4,000W and a maximum power of 5,000W. The noise level of the generator is 68 dBA, which is less than the noise level of background music. The generator is started with a pull-start mechanism. With a fuel capacity of 4.7 gallons, the 200921 can run at 0.5 load for about 14 hours on a full tank (fuel consumption is approximately 0.34 GPH). Because the 200921 has a THD of about 20%, it shouldn’t be used to power sensitive electronics.
On the control panel, there are 4 AC outlets for: Duplex 120V 20A (5-20R); 120V 30A (TT-30R) receptacle; 120/240V 30A (L14-30R) receptacle. This Champion generator is ready for an RV because it has a TT-30R (TT stands for “Travel Trailer”) plug. The 200921 is also ready for a transfer switch because it has a twist-lock L14-30R receptacle. If the power goes out, you can easily connect it to a breaker box and keep your home running.
The 200921’s control panel has an Intelligauge meter that shows voltage, frequency, and lifetime hours. This makes it easier to keep track of its status and activity. The generator has a built-in fuel gauge that makes it quick, easy, and convenient to find out how much gas is in it.In terms of safety, the generator can be used without worry because it has an automatic shut-off for low oil and an overload protection (circuit breaker).Volt GuardTM, which is built into Champion, protects your equipment and appliances from voltage spikes. The Champion 200921 comes with the standard paperwork and an owner’s manual, which will help you get the machine going quickly. Also included are a funnel and oil.
The Champion 200921 is 23.2 inches long, 18.3 inches wide, and 20.2 inches tall.It has a typical open frame design that makes it stable and allows it to be raised above ground level. The device was made to work well in harsh conditions and in the great outdoors.Even though the generator is technically considered to “be portable,” it will be very hard to move it by hand because it weighs 104.7 pounds (in the sense that it is movable). To make the generator easier to move, you might want to buy an official wheel kit.
The following charts show how some of the most important features of the Champion-200921 compare to other generators with the same power output.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
A US-based producer of power equipment, Champion Power Equipment was established in 2003.The comparatively tiny business has established a name for itself in the portable generator market as well as the larger power equipment market, with a concentration on heavy duty machinery like log cutters, snow blowers, chipper shredders, etc.Their whole product line is American-engineered.The corporation does not, however, disclose the country of origin of its parts.
There is a warranty on the Champion 200921 for up to 3 years. This warranty may not cover all parts of the generator or may only cover certain parts.Champion’s warranty policies can tell you more about how long the warranty on a Champion generator lasts. You can also call their customer service line at 1-877-338-0999.
