The gasoline-powered 224 cc OHV 4-stroke engine is the heart of the Champion 200955. It has a 120V output and a running power of 3,500W and a peak power of 4,250W. Also, since it can work in parallel (ParaLink is not included), this power can be increased by connecting it to another unit that works with it. The noise level of the inverter generator is 64 dBA, which is just a little louder than background music. It is started with a simple pull-start mechanism. The 200955 can run for up to 22 hours on a full tank of fuel, which is 4 gallons (fuel consumption is approximately 0.18 GPH). The 200955 makes a clean sine wave. With a Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of less than 3%, you can safely plug sensitive electronics into its AC outlets.
On the control panel, there are 3 AC outlets: a duplex 120V 20A (5-20R) outlet and a 120V 30A (TT-30R) outlet. It also has 2 DC outlets: two 5V USB ports that make it easy to charge devices like cell phones or tablets. The TT-30R plug on this Champion generator is ready for an RV.TT stands for “Travel Trailer”.
On the 200955’s control panel, there is an Intelligauge meter that shows voltage, frequency, and lifetime hours. This lets you keep track of its status and activity. In addition, the lights tell you if the generator is ready, if it is overloaded, and if the oil level is too low.The inverter generator has a built-in fuel gauge that makes it easy and quick to check the fuel level. As for safety features, the device has a circuit breaker for overheating and an automatic shut-off for low oil, so you can use it without worry. The Champion 200955 comes with the usual paperwork and an owner’s manual , so you can start using it right away.It also comes with oil and a funnel.
The Champion 200955 is 20.9 inches long, 18.3 inches wide, and 19.4 inches high.It has a typical open frame design that makes it stable and allows it to be raised above ground level. The device was made to work well in harsh conditions and in the great outdoors. The 200955 weighs 75 pounds when it is empty, so you can use its power anywhere you need to.The generator is also easier to pick up and move around because its frame is open.If you want to make moving the 200955 easier, you could also buy the official wheel kit.
We could find any videos of the product at the time of writing. Please search YouTube for any update.
The following charts show how some of the most important features of the Champion-200955 compare to other generators with the same power output.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
A US-based producer of power equipment, Champion Power Equipment was established in 2003.The comparatively tiny business has established a name for itself in the portable generator market as well as the larger power equipment market, with a concentration on heavy duty machinery like log cutters, snow blowers, chipper shredders, etc.Their whole product line is American-engineered.The corporation does not, however, disclose the country of origin of its parts.
There is a warranty on the Champion 200955 for up to 3 years. This warranty may not cover all parts of the generator or may only cover certain parts.Champion’s warranty policies can tell you more about how long the warranty on a Champion generator lasts. You can also call their customer service line at 1-877-338-0999.
