Description
With its dual-fuel technology, the Champion 200977 has 120V power and can be used in many different ways. When it is running on gasoline, it has a running wattage of 3,500W and a peak wattage of 4,250W. When run by propane, it has a rated power of 3150 watts and a peak power of 4250 watts. The device can also work in parallel (ParaLink is not included), which means it can be connected to a similar or compatible unit to get more power. The noise level of the inverter generator is said to be 64 dBA (little noisier than an office setting). It has a pull-start mechanism, which is a common way to start a motor. With a full tank of gasoline, the 200977, which has a fuel capacity of 4 gallons, can run for up to 22 hours (fuel consumption is approximately 0.18 GPH). It can run for up to 21 hours on propane (on a 20 lbs tank – propane consumption around 0.22 GPH). The 200977 makes a clean sine wave with a Total Harmonic Distortion of 3%, so it is safe to plug sensitive electronics into the AC outlets (THD).
Outlets
On the control panel, there are 3 AC outlets: a duplex 120V 20A (5-20R) outlet and a 120V 30A (TT-30R) outlet.
It also has 2 DC outlets: two 5V USB ports (USB-A) that make it easy to charge devices like phones or tablets. This Champion generator is ready for an RV because it has a TT-30R plug (TT stands for “Travel Trailer”).Features
On the 200977’s control panel, there is an Intelligauge meter that shows voltage, frequency, and lifetime hours.
This lets you keep track of its status and activity. The device’s lights will also show if the generator is overloaded, if the oil level is too low, and if the generator is ready. The inverter generator has a built-in fuel gauge that makes it easy and quick to check the fuel level. As for safety features, the device has a circuit breaker for overheating and an automatic shut-off for low oil, so you can use it without worry. The Champion 200977 comes with the standard paperwork and an owner’s manual, which will help you get the device going quickly. Also included are oil, a funnel, and a propane hose.Mobility
The Champion 200977 is made with a typical open frame that measures L20.9 x W18.3 x H19.4 in, This gives it support and stability and gives you the option to raise it off the ground.
This type of design is great for tough environments and heavy outdoor use.Since the 200977 weighs only 79 pounds, you can take it anywhere you need power. The generator is also easier to move because it has an open frame, which makes it easy to grab and move.Product Videos

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
A US-based producer of power equipment, Champion Power Equipment was established in 2003.
The comparatively tiny business has established a name for itself in the portable generator market as well as the larger power equipment market, with a concentration on heavy duty machinery like log cutters, snow blowers, chipper shredders, etc.Their whole product line is American-engineered.The corporation does not, however, disclose the country of origin of its parts.Warranty Information
There is a warranty on the Champion 200977 for up to 3 years.
This warranty may not cover all parts of the generator or may only cover certain parts.Champion’s warranty policies can tell you more about how long the warranty on a Champion generator lasts. You can also call their customer service line at 1-877-338-0999.
