Description
The Champion 200988 has a 120V output and great power and versatility thanks to its dual-fuel technology. If it is powered by gasoline, the device has a running power of 3,500W and a starting power of 4,500W. If it runs on propane, it has a rated power of 3150 watts and a starting power of 4500 watts. The device can also work in parallel (ParaLink is not included), which means it can be connected to a similar or compatible unit to get more power. This inverter generator has a noise rating of 61 dBA, which is just a little louder than a normal conversation. It can be started with a simple pull-start mechanism or with an easy-to-use electric starter (battery included). The EZ Start Dial on Champion makes it easy to start the engine and get to all the controls you need. With 2.3 gallons of fuel, the 200988 can run for up to 14 hours on a full tank (fuel consumption is approximately 0.16 GPH). It can run for up to 21 hours if propane is used (on a 20 lbs tank – propane consumption around 0.22 GPH). The 200988 makes a clean sine wave. With a Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of less than 3%, you can safely plug sensitive electronics into its AC outlets.
Outlets
On the control panel, there are 3 AC outlets: a duplex 120V 20A (5-20R) outlet and a 120V 30A (TT-30R) outlet.
It also has 1 DC outlet, which is a 12V 8A receptacle that looks like a cigarette lighter and makes it easy to charge your batteries.Since the unit comes with a dual port USB adapter, you can also use the DC receptacle to easily charge devices like cell phones and tablets. This Champion generator is ready for an RV because it has a TT-30R plug.TT stands for “Travel Trailer”.Features
The Intelligauge meter in the 200988’s control center helps you keep track of its status and activity by showing voltage, frequency, and lifetime hours.
In addition to this information, there are several lights that tell you when the generator is overloaded, when it is ready, and when its oil level is too low.The inverter generator has a built-in fuel gauge that makes it quick, easy, and convenient to check how much gas it has.For safety, the generator has an overload protection (circuit breaker) and an automatic low oil shut-off, so you can use it without worrying.Along with the basic paperwork and an owner’s manual, which can be used right away to start the generator, the Champion 200988 comes with a dual port USB adapter, a propane hose, a tool kit, a funnel, and oil.You can also buy an official running cover if you want to.Mobility
Since the Champion 200988 is an inverter generator, its closed design (L23.2 x W17.7 x H20.1) makes it look better than traditional devices with open frames.
The generator has a modern look and is easy to use when generating power for fun.The generator is technically “portable” because it can be moved, but at 103 pounds, it may be hard to move it by hand. But its two wheels (diameter: 5 in) make it easy to move around “Once it’s on the floor, it will be easier to move because of the handle that folds down.Product Videos

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
A US-based producer of power equipment, Champion Power Equipment was established in 2003.
The comparatively tiny business has established a name for itself in the portable generator market as well as the larger power equipment market, with a concentration on heavy duty machinery like log cutters, snow blowers, chipper shredders, etc.Their whole product line is American-engineered.The corporation does not, however, disclose the country of origin of its parts.Warranty Information
There is a warranty on the Champion 200988 for up to 3 years.
This warranty may not cover all parts of the generator or may only cover certain parts.Champion’s warranty policies can tell you more about how long the warranty on a Champion generator lasts. You can also call their customer service line at 1-877-338-0999.
