Description
The Champion 200989 has a 212 cc OHV 4-stroke engine that drives it. It runs on gasoline and has a running wattage of 3,500W and a peak wattage of 4,500W. It gives out 120V. Also, the device can work in parallel (but it doesn’t come with a ParaLink parallel kit), so it can be linked to a similar or compatible unit for more power. The inverter generator has a noise level of 61 dBA, which is just a little louder than an office. It is started with a pull-start mechanism. The EZ Start Dial on Champion makes it easy to start the engine and get to all the controls you need. The 200989 can run for up to 14 hours on a full tank of 2.3 gallons of gas (fuel consumption is approximately 0.16 GPH). The 200989 makes a clean sine wave. With a Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of less than 3%, you can safely plug your sensitive electronics into the AC outlets.
Outlets
On the control panel, there are 3 AC outlets: a duplex 120V 20A (5-20R) outlet and a 120V 30A (TT-30R) outlet.
It also has 2 DC outlets: two 5V USB ports that make it easy to charge devices like cell phones or tablets. The TT-30R plug on this Champion generator is ready for an RV.TT stands for “Travel Trailer”.Features
On the 200989’s control panel, there is an Intelligauge meter that shows voltage, frequency, and lifetime hours.
This lets you keep track of its status and activity. In addition to this information, some lights let you know right away if the generator is ready, if it is overloaded, or if it doesn’t have enough oil.The inverter generator has a built-in fuel gauge that makes it easy and quick to check the fuel level. As for safety features, the device has a circuit breaker for overheating and an automatic shut-off for low oil, so you can use it without worry. In addition to the usual paperwork and an owner’s manual , which will help you get started right away, the Champion 200989 comes with a funnel, oil, and a tool kit.Mobility
Since the Champion 200989 is an inverter generator, its enclosed design (L23.2 x W17.7 x H20.1 in) looks better than a traditional open frame product.
The design shown here is in line with the latest trends and is great for easy and fun use.Since the 200989 weighs only 95 lbs, you can take it anywhere you need power. Also, once it’s on the ground, its two wheels (diameter: 5 “You won’t have to work hard to move it because the handle folds down.Product Videos

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
A US-based producer of power equipment, Champion Power Equipment was established in 2003.
The comparatively tiny business has established a name for itself in the portable generator market as well as the larger power equipment market, with a concentration on heavy duty machinery like log cutters, snow blowers, chipper shredders, etc.Their whole product line is American-engineered.The corporation does not, however, disclose the country of origin of its parts.Warranty Information
There is a warranty on the Champion 200989 for up to 3 years.
This warranty may not cover all parts of the generator or may only cover certain parts.Champion’s warranty policies can tell you more about how long the warranty on a Champion generator lasts. You can also call their customer service line at 1-877-338-0999.
