With its dual-fuel technology, the Champion 200991 has 120V power and can be used in many different ways. When powered by gasoline, it has a running wattage of 3,500W and a maximum wattage of 4,500W. When powered by propane, it has a rated 3150 watts and a peak of 4500 watts. Also, because it can work in parallel (ParaLink is not included), its power can be increased by connecting it to a second unit that works with it. The noise level of this inverter generator is 61 dBA, which is just a little bit louder than a normal conversation. It can be started with a pull-start mechanism or a simple and elegant electric starter (battery included). The EZ Start Dial on Champion makes it easy to start the engine and get to all the controls you need. With a fuel capacity of 2.3 gallons, the 200991 can run for up to 14 hours on a full tank of gas (fuel consumption is approximately 0.16 GPH). It can last up to 21 hours if you use propane (on a 20 lbs tank – propane consumption around 0.22 GPH). The 200991 makes a clean sine wave with a Total Harmonic Distortion of 3%, so it is safe to plug sensitive electronics into the AC outlets (THD).
On the control panel, there are 3 AC outlets: a duplex 120V 20A (5-20R) outlet and a 120V 30A (TT-30R) outlet. It also has two DC outlets and two 5V USB ports, which make it easy to charge devices like cell phones and tablets. This Champion generator is ready for an RV because it has a TT-30R plug.TT stands for “Travel Trailer”.
A digital Intelligauge data center, which is part of the 200991’s control panel, makes it possible to check on its status and activity. The data center gives information on the voltage, lifetime run hours, and power output. In addition to this information, the lights tell you if the generator is overloaded, if it doesn’t have enough oil, and if it’s ready to use.The inverter generator has a built-in fuel gauge that makes it quick, easy, and convenient to find out how much gas is in it.In terms of safety, the generator can be used without worry because it has a circuit breaker for overheating and an automatic shut-off when the oil level gets too low.Along with the basic paperwork and an owner’s manual, which will help you start the generator right away, the Champion 200991 comes with a propane hose, oil, funnel, and tool kit.You can also buy an official running cover if you want to.
Since the Champion 200991 is an inverter generator, its enclosed design (L23.2 x W17.7 x H20.1 in) looks better than a traditional open frame product. The design shown here is in line with the latest trends and is great for easy and fun use.The generator is technically “portable” because it can be moved, but at 103 pounds, it may be hard to move it by hand.Still, because it has two wheels that are 5 “Once the generator is on the ground, it is easy to move thanks to its wheels and folding handle, which make up for its lack of maneuverability.
The following charts show how some of the most important features of the Champion-200991 compare to other generators with the same power output.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
A US-based producer of power equipment, Champion Power Equipment was established in 2003.The comparatively tiny business has established a name for itself in the portable generator market as well as the larger power equipment market, with a concentration on heavy duty machinery like log cutters, snow blowers, chipper shredders, etc.Their whole product line is American-engineered.The corporation does not, however, disclose the country of origin of its parts.
There is a warranty on the Champion 200991 for up to 3 years. This warranty may not cover all parts of the generator or may only cover certain parts.Champion’s warranty policies can tell you more about how long the warranty on a Champion generator lasts. You can also call their customer service line at 1-877-338-0999.
