The gasoline-powered 212 cc OHV 4-stroke engine is the heart of the Champion 200992. It has a 120V output and a running power of 3,650W and a peak power of 4,650W. Also, since it can work in parallel (ParaLink is not included), this power can be increased by connecting it to another unit that works with it. This inverter generator has a noise level of 61 dBA, which is just a little louder than a normal conversation. It starts up with a traditional pull-start mechanism. The EZ Start Dial on Champion makes it easy to start the engine and get to all the controls you need. With 2.3 gallons of fuel, the 200992 can run for up to 14 hours on a single tank (fuel consumption is approximately 0.16 GPH). The 200992 makes a clean sine wave. With a Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of less than 3%, you can safely plug your sensitive electronics into the AC outlets.
The control panel has 3 AC outlets: a duplex 120V 20A (5-20R) outlet, a 120V 30A (TT-30R) outlet, and a 120V 20A (TT-20R) outlet. It also has 1 DC outlet, which is a 12V 8A receptacle that looks like a cigarette lighter. This makes it easy to charge your batteries.Since the unit comes with a dual port USB adapter, you can also use the DC receptacle to easily charge devices like cell phones and tablets. This Champion generator is ready for an RV because it has a TT-30R (TT stands for “Travel Trailer”) plug.
The 200992’s control panel has a digital Intelligauge data center that tells you how many hours it has been running, its voltage, power output, and frequency. This helps you keep track of its activity and status. In addition to this, the generator has a number of lights that tell you when the oil level is too low, when the generator is overloaded, and when it is ready. The inverter generator has a built-in fuel gauge that makes it quick, easy, and convenient to check how much gas it has.As far as safety goes, the device has an automatic shut-off for low oil and a circuit breaker for overheating, so you can use it without worrying. The Champion 200992 comes with the usual paperwork and an owner’s manual , which lets you start using it right away.It also comes with oil, a funnel, a dual port USB adapter, and a tool kit.
The Champion 200992 is an inverter generator with the following measurements: L23.2 x W17.7 x H20.1.So, it looks better than most other products with open frames. The goal of this modern design is to give recreational users the best way to get power. The 200992 can go anywhere because it only weighs 95 pounds. Also, once it’s on the floor, it’s easy to move because it has two wheels with a diameter of 5 inches and a handle that folds up.
The following charts show how some of the most important features of the Champion-200992 compare to other generators with the same power output.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
A US-based producer of power equipment, Champion Power Equipment was established in 2003.The comparatively tiny business has established a name for itself in the portable generator market as well as the larger power equipment market, with a concentration on heavy duty machinery like log cutters, snow blowers, chipper shredders, etc.Their whole product line is American-engineered.The corporation does not, however, disclose the country of origin of its parts.
There is a warranty on the Champion 200992 for up to 3 years. This warranty may not cover all parts of the generator or may only cover certain parts.Champion’s warranty policies can tell you more about how long the warranty on a Champion generator lasts. You can also call their customer service line at 1-877-338-0999.
