The DuroMax XP15000EH’s dual-fuel technology lets it put out 120/240V and gives it a lot of power and flexibility. If the device is powered by gasoline, it has a running power of 12,000W and a starting power of 15,000W. If it is run by propane, it has a rated power of 11400 watts and a starting power of 14250 watts. The generator has a noise level of 83 dBA, which is just a little louder than a garbage disposal. It is started with a simple and elegant electric starter (battery included). With a fuel capacity of 10.6 gallons, the XP15000EH can run for about 9 hours at 0.5 load on gasoline (using about 1.18 GPH of fuel), or about 3 hours on a 20 lb tank (using about 1.57 GPH of propane). Since the XP15000EH has a THD of about 12%, it is best not to use it to power electronics that are sensitive to noise.
There are 7 AC outlets on the control panel: two 120V 20A (5-20R) GFCI duplexes, a 120V 30A (L5-30R) receptacle, a 120/240V 30A (L14-30R) receptacle, and a 120/240V 50A (14-50R) receptacle. This DuroMax generator isn’t quite RV-ready, but it has an L5-30R receptacle that makes it easy to hook it up to an RV with an L5-30P to TT-30R adapter. The XP15000EH is also transfer switch ready because it has a twist-lock L14-30R receptacle. You can easily connect it to your breaker box to power your home when the power goes out.
On the control panel of the XP15000EH is a handy meter that shows voltage, frequency, and lifetime hours. This makes it easier to keep track of its status and activity.Along with this information, a light lets you know right away if the oil level is too low.The generator has a built-in fuel gauge that makes it easy to see at a glance how much gas is in the tank. When it comes to safety, this product has an automatic low oil shut-off and an overload protection (circuit breaker), so you can use it without worry. The DuroMax XP15000EH comes with a tool kit, propane hose, and funnel, as well as the usual documentation and an owner’s manual to get you up and running quickly.
The DuroMax XP15000EH is made with a typical open frame that is 30 inches long, 33 inches wide, and 35 inches high. This gives it support and stability and gives you the option of raising it above ground level. The generator is built to work well outside and in rough places.Even though this device is technically portable (meaning it can be moved), it weighs 380 pounds and can be hard to move and use without special tools.Still, once it’s on the ground, its wheels and folding handle make it easy to move. The generator has an extra safety feature in the form of a lift hook on the top of its frame, which makes it easier to move, load, and unload.
The following charts show how some of the most important features of the DuroMax-XP15000EH compare to other generators with the same power output.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
Duromax is a small company in the United States that makes power tools. Its headquarters are in Ontario, California.Duromax makes pumps, engines, pressure washers, and, most importantly, power generators. In this way, the company only makes portable generators and devices that can use both gas and electricity as fuel. The generators made by Duromax are designed and serviced in the US, but their production is done in other countries.Since its start in 2003, DuroMax is becoming known as a major player in the market for power generators.
A warranty covers the DuroMax XP15000EH for up to 3 years. This warranty may not cover all parts of the generator or may only cover certain parts.Check out DuroMax’s warranty policies if you want to know more about the warranty on DuroMax generators. You can also call their customer service line at 1-844-DUROMAX (844-387-6629).
