The dual-fuel technology in the DuroMax XP2300iH gives it 120V, power, and a lot of different uses. When powered by gasoline, it has a running wattage of 1,800W and a maximum wattage of 2,300W. When powered by propane, it has a rated 1700 watts and a peak of 2150 watts. Also, the generator can be connected to a second unit to make more power because it comes with a parallel kit. Switch On Demand is a feature of DuroMax that lets you switch from gasoline to propane or propane to gasoline while the generator is running. The inverter generator has a noise level of 52 dBA, which is just a little louder than a conversation at home. It is started with a pull-start mechanism. With a full tank of gas, the XP2300iH, which has a fuel capacity of 1.1 gallons, can run for up to 13 hours (fuel consumption is approximately 0.08 GPH). It can run for up to 38 hours on propane (on a 20 lbs tank – propane consumption around 0.12 GPH). The XP2300iH makes a clean sine wave. With a Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of less than 3%, you can safely plug your sensitive electronics into the AC outlets.
On the control panel, there are 3 AC outlets for: Duplex 120V 20A (5-20R); 120V 30A (L5-30R) receptacle. Also, it has 2 DC outlets: one USB-A port and one USB-C port. This makes it easy to charge devices like cell phones and tablets. This DuroMax generator isn’t quite RV-ready, but it has an L5-30R receptacle that makes it easy to hook it up to an RV with an L5-30P to TT-30R adapter.
The control panel of the XP2300iH has a digital data center that tells you things like the frequency, voltage, lifetime run hours, fuel level, and power output. This helps you keep an eye on its activity and status. The device’s light indicators will also show if the generator is ready, if it is overloaded, or if the oil level is too low. From a safety point of view, the product has a circuit breaker for overload protection and an automatic shut-off for low oil, so you can use it without worry. The XP2300iH also has the CO Alert carbon monoxide shut-off feature from DuroMax.If CO levels get too high too quickly, the generator will shut down automatically, a red light will come on, and the engine won’t start again for 5 minutes. It’s a nice extra safety measure, but don’t forget to take your generator outside at all times. The DuroMax XP2300iH comes with a propane hose, a tool kit, and a funnel, as well as the usual paperwork and an owner’s manual to get you up and running quickly.
The DuroMax XP2300iH looks better than a typical open frame generator because it has a closed inverter generator (L22 x W14 x H20 in). This kind of design is the most modern and easy way to make power for fun.Since the XP2300iH weighs only 50.6 lbs, you can take it anywhere you need power. Also, its two 4.5-inch-diameter wheels and telescoping handle make it easy to move once it’s on the ground.
The following charts show how some of the most important features of the DuroMax-XP2300iH compare to other generators with the same power output.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
Small American power equipment manufacturer Duromax is headquartered in Ontario, California.Pumps, engines, pressure washers, and power generators are among the many goods in which Duromax excels. The company’s only concentration in this area is on portable generators, primarily those with small and medium power outputs as well as dual fuel devices.Although construction of Duromax generators is outsourced to other countries, they are designed and serviced in the US.DuroMax, which was established in 2003, has begun to emerge as a significant force in the market for power generators.
A warranty covers the DuroMax XP2300iH for up to 3 years. This warranty may not cover all parts of the generator or may only cover certain parts.Check out DuroMax’s warranty policies if you want to know more about the warranty on DuroMax generators. You can also call their customer service line at 1-844-DUROMAX (844-387-6629).
