A 60 cc OHV 4-stroke engine powers the ECHO EGi-1200. It has a 120V output, runs on gas, and has a running wattage of 1,000W and a peak wattage of 1,200W. Also, since the generator can work in parallel (but doesn’t come with a parallel kit), it can be linked to a second unit to make more power. The noise level of the inverter generator is 64 dBA, which is just a little louder than background music. It is started with a simple pull-start mechanism. With a 0.69-gallon fuel tank, the EGi-1200 can run for about 5.2 hours at 0.5 load when the tank is full (fuel consumption is approximately 0.13 GPH). The EGi-1200 makes a clean sine wave. With a Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of less than 3%, you can safely plug your sensitive electronics into the AC outlets.
On the control panel, there are two 120V 20A duplex outlets (5-20R).It also has 3 DC outlets, including a 12V 5A receptacle that makes it easy to charge batteries and two 5V USB ports that make it easy to charge devices like cell phones and tablets.
Several lights let you know when the generator is too full, when it’s ready to go, and when the oil level is too low. When it comes to safety, this product has a circuit breaker for overheating and an automatic shut-off for low oil, so you can use it without any worries. The ECHO EGi-1200 comes with the features we’ve already talked about, as well as the basic documentation and an owner’s manual , so you can use it right away.
The ECHO EGi-1200 is an inverter generator, and its closed design (L16 x W11 x H16 in) makes it look better than traditional devices with open frames. The featured design follows the latest trends and is ideal for easy and recreational use.Labeled a lightweight portable generator, the EGi-1200 weighs just 30 lbs.The device is easy for one person to move, so its power can be used while on the go.The handle, which is built into the case, is also helpful because it makes it easy to carry.Good to know : This unit ranks 7 th in our list of the 10 smallest portable generators.
We could find any videos of the product at the time of writing. Please search YouTube for any update.
The following charts show how some of the most important features of the Echo-EGi-1200 compare to other generators with the same power output.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
