Description
The dual-fuel technology of the DuroStar DS13000EH allows for an output of 120/240V and provides superb power and versatility. If gasoline-powered, the device provides a running wattage of 10,500W and a starting wattage of 13,000W. If propane-powered, it gives 9975 rated watts and 12350 starting watts. Enjoying a noise rating of 74 dBA (A tad noisier than a vacuum cleaner), this generator can be started thanks to a conventional pull-start mechanism, but also to a simple and elegant electric starter (battery included) (battery included). Regarding its running time, the DS13000EH, with an 8.3 gallons fuel capacity can operate for around 8.5 hours at 0.5 load with a full tank of gasoline (fuel consumption is approximately 0.98 GPH) (fuel consumption is approximately 0.98 GPH). When using propane, it can run for around 3.2 hours (on a 20 lbs tank – propane consumption around 1.47 GPH) (on a 20 lbs tank – propane consumption around 1.47 GPH). Since the DS13000EH has a somewhat high THD (<12%), it is advisable to not use it for the powering of sensitive electronic devices.
Outlets
The control panel has 5 AC outlets: a duplex 120V 20A (5-20R) GFCI outlet, a 120V 30A (L5-30R) outlet, a 120/240V 30A (L14-30R) outlet, and a 120/240V 50A (14-50R) outlet.
Also, it has 1 DC outlet: a 12V 8A receptacle that looks like a cigarette lighter. This makes it easy to charge your batteries. This DuroStar generator isn’t quite RV-ready, but it has an L5-30R receptacle that makes it easy to hook it up to an RV with an L5-30P to TT-30R adapter. The DS13000EH is also ready for a transfer switch because it has a twist-lock L14-30R receptacle. If the power goes out, you can easily connect it to a breaker box and keep your home running.Features
The DS13000EH’s control panel has a handy meter that shows voltage, frequency, and lifetime hours so you can keep an eye on its status and activity.
In addition to this information, if the oil level is too low, a light on the device will show. The generator has a built-in fuel gauge that makes it quick, easy, and convenient to check how much gas is in the machine. As far as safety goes, the device has an automatic shut-off for low oil and a circuit breaker for overheating, so you can use it without worrying. The DuroStar DS13000EH comes with basic instructions and an owner’s manual that will help you start the generator quickly. It also comes with a tool kit, a propane hose, and a funnel.Mobility
The DuroStar DS13000EH has a standard, open frame that is 29 inches long, 30 inches wide, and 26 inches high.
This frame gives it support and lets it be lifted off the ground. The device was made to work well in harsh conditions and in the great outdoors.Even though this device is technically portable (meaning it can be moved), it weighs 234 pounds and can be hard to move and use without special tools. But its wheels and folding handle make it easier to move once it’s on the floor.Product Videos

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
DuroMax is a company that was started in 2003 and is based in Ontario, California.
The DuroStar brand is one of its brands. Most DuroStar generators have a DuroMax twin, and the only difference between them is their color scheme and where they were made. The generators and engines for DuroStar are made in China, but the design and service centers are in the United States.Warranty Information
