Description
A 212 cc OHV 4-stroke engine powers the ECHO EGi-4000. It has a 120V output, runs on gas, and has a running wattage of 3,400W and a peak wattage of 4,000W. The pull-start mechanism on this inverter generator is simple and old-fashioned. With a full tank, the EGi-4000 can run for about 10 hours at 0.5 load (using about 0.33 GPH of fuel). This is because it has a 3.3-gallon fuel capacity. The EGi-4000 makes a clean sine wave. Since it has 3% Total Harmonic Distortion (THD), you can safely plug sensitive electronics into its AC outlets.
Outlets
On the control panel, there are 3 AC outlets: a duplex 120V 20A (5-20R) outlet and a 120V 30A (TT-30R) outlet.
It also has 2 DC outlets: two 5V USB ports that make it easy to charge devices like cell phones or tablets. This ECHO generator is ready for an RV because it has a TT-30R (TT stands for “Travel Trailer”) receptacle.Features
A digital data center, one of the components of the EGi-4000’s control panel, which displays data on the power output, fuel level, and remaining run time, enables monitoring of the machine’s state and activities.
Because it has an overload protection (circuit breaker) and an automated low oil shut-off, the generator can be utilized with complete security.Additionally, the EGi-4000 gains from COntrolTM carbon monoxide detection from ECHO.While the generator is running, this device tracks the buildup of CO gas and will turn off the engine if the levels are dangerously high.Though it’s a wonderful extra measure of security, make sure to carry your generator outside at all times.Along with the characteristics described above, the ECHO EGi-4000 is delivered with the usual paperwork and an owner’s manual, making it easier for you to use the equipment right away.Mobility
The ECHO EGi-4000 is 27 inches long, 18.8 inches wide, and 24 inches high.
It has a typical open frame design that makes it stable and allows it to be raised above ground level. The design works well in rough places and for hard outdoor use. With a dry weight of 86 pounds, the EGi-4000 is easy to take with you wherever you need power. Also, it’s easy to move once it’s on the floor because it has wheels and a handle that folds up.Product Videos

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
In Northbrook, Illinois, ECHO Incorporated was first established in 1972 as the Kioritz Corporation of America.
The name was modified to its present form in 1978.Despite being the largest subsidiary of the Japanese company Yamabiko, its US headquarters are in Lake Zurich, Illinois, not far from Chicago. The majority of ECHO’s products are made in the US, using components from both domestic and international vendors.Portable generators, pressure washers, trimmers, blowers, and chainsaws are just a few of the many outdoor power devices it offers. The business takes pride in its commitment to the three environmental sectors of technology, conservation, and sustainability.Warranty Information
The warranty for the ECHO EGi-4000 lasts for up to 3 years.
This warranty may not cover all parts of the generator or may only cover certain parts.Check out ECHO’s warranty policies to learn more about the warranty on their generators. You can also call their customer service line at 1-800-432-ECHO (3246).
