The Ford FG2300iS has an 80-cc, 3-hp Ducar OHV 4-stroke engine that runs on gasoline and puts out 120V and 2,000W when running and 2,300W at its most powerful. Also, the device can work in parallel (but doesn’t come with a parallel kit), so it can be linked to a similar or compatible unit for more power. The noise level of the inverter generator is 59 dBA, which is less than a normal conversation at home. It has a simple pull-start mechanism. With a full tank, the FG2300iS can run for about 6 hours at 0.5 load with its 1.18 gallon fuel tank (fuel consumption is approximately 0.2 GPH). The FG2300iS makes a clean sine wave. With a Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of less than 3%, you can safely plug sensitive electronics into its AC outlets.
The control panel has the following two AC outlets: Duplex 120V 20A (5-20R).Also, it has 2 DC outlets: a 12V 8A receptacle (like a cigarette lighter) that makes it easy to charge your batteries, and a 5V USB port (USB-A) that makes it easy to charge things like cell phones and tablets.
The lights on the generator will let you know when the oil level is too low, when the generator is overloaded, and when it is ready to be used.In terms of safety, the generator can be used without worry because it has an automatic shut-off for low oil and an overload protection (circuit breaker). The Ford FG2300iS comes with basic paperwork and an owner’s manual to help you start the generator quickly. It also comes with a funnel and a tool kit, among other things.
Since the Ford FG2300iS is an inverter generator, its enclosed design (L19.7 x W11.2 x H17.9 in) looks better than a traditional open frame product. This kind of design is the most modern and easy way to make power for fun.The FG2300iS is a portable generator that weighs only 46.3 lbs and is light enough to carry around. The power of the product can be used on the go, since it is easy for one person to move.It can also be carried easily thanks to a handle that is built into the case. This makes it even more convenient.
The following charts show how some of the most important features of the Ford-FG2300iS compare to other generators with the same power output.
**Fuel efficiency is give in relative percentage, 0 being the lowest and 1 being the highest value. Please see below specification table for actual value.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
Ford is mostly associated with Henry Ford’s Ford Motor Company, a storied US automobile company established in 1903, but its trademark can also be seen on a variety of other products, including power equipment.Affordable portable generators, water pumps, and pressure washers are available at Ford Power Equipment.Although they are manufactured and supplied by Pulsar Inc., which has a manufacturing facility in Asia, generators are actually licensed under the Ford trademark. The business does, however, guarantee excellent customer service and pre-delivery testing, and customers generally give their products very positive evaluations.
There is a warranty on the Ford FG2300iS for up to 2 years. This warranty may not cover all parts of the generator or may only cover certain parts.Ford’s customer service number is 1-866-591-8921 if you want to find out more about the warranty on a Ford generator.
