The Ford FG2500iSCO has a 98cc OHV 4-stroke engine that runs on gasoline and puts out 120V and 2,200W while running and 2,500W at its most powerful. Also, since it can work in parallel (but doesn’t come with a parallel kit), its power can be doubled by connecting it to a second unit that works with it. This inverter generator has a noise rating of 64 dBA, which is just a little bit louder than an office. It starts up with a simple pull-start mechanism. With a full tank, the FG2500iSCO can run for about 6 hours at 0.5 load with a fuel capacity of 1 gallon (fuel consumption is approximately 0.17 GPH). The FG2500iSCO makes a clean sine wave with a Total Harmonic Distortion of 3%, so it is safe to plug sensitive electronics into AC outlets (THD).
The control panel has the following two AC outlets: duplex 120V 20A (5-20R).It also has 1 DC outlet: a 5V USB port (USB-A) that makes it easy to charge devices like phones or tablets.
The FG2500iSCO’s control panel has a digital data center that shows the lifetime run hours, power output, frequency, remaining run time, voltage, and fuel level. This lets you keep track of its status and activity. In addition to this information, some lights let you know right away if the generator is ready, if it is overloaded, or if it doesn’t have enough oil.As far as safety goes, the device has an automatic shut-off for low oil and a circuit breaker for overheating, so you can use it without worrying. The unit also has Ford’s CO Sentry carbon monoxide detector, which is a good thing. The sensor checks to see if poisonous carbon monoxide gas is building up around the generator, and if it is, it turns off the engine. It’s a nice extra safety measure, but don’t forget to take your generator outside at all times.Aside from the features we’ve already talked about, the Ford FG2500iSCO also comes with the basic paperwork and an owner’s manual, so you can start using it right away.
Since the Ford FG2500iSCO is an inverter generator, its enclosed design (L21.1 x W11.2 x H17.9 in) looks better than a traditional open frame product. This kind of design is the most modern and easy way to make power for fun.The FG2500iSCO is a lightweight portable generator because it only weighs 48.7 pounds. The device is easy for one person to move, so its power can be used while on the go.The handle built into the case makes it even easier to carry.
We could find any videos of the product at the time of writing. Please search YouTube for any update.
The following charts show how some of the most important features of the Ford-FG2500iSCO compare to other generators with the same power output.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
Ford is mostly associated with Henry Ford’s Ford Motor Company, a storied US automobile company established in 1903, but its trademark can also be seen on a variety of other products, including power equipment.Affordable portable generators, water pumps, and pressure washers are available at Ford Power Equipment.Although they are manufactured and supplied by Pulsar Inc., which has a manufacturing facility in Asia, generators are actually licensed under the Ford trademark. The business does, however, guarantee excellent customer service and pre-delivery testing, and customers generally give their products very positive evaluations.
There is a warranty on the Ford FG2500iSCO for up to 2 years. This warranty may not cover all parts of the generator or may only cover certain parts.Ford’s customer service number is 1-866-591-8921 if you want to find out more about the warranty on a Ford generator.
