Description
The Powermate PM4500DF’s dual-fuel technology lets it put out 120V and gives it a lot of power and flexibility. If it is powered by gasoline, the device has a running power of 3,600W and a starting power of 4,500W. If it runs on propane, it has a rated power of 3240 watts and a starting power of 4180 watts. A pull-start mechanism is used to turn on this generator. With a 5 gallon fuel tank, the PM4500DF can run for about 10.5 hours at 0.5 load when using gasoline (fuel consumption is approximately 0.48 GPH). If you use propane instead, it can run for about 7 hours (estimated based on a 20-lb tank, which uses about 0.67 GPH).
Outlets
On the control panel, there are 5 AC outlets for: Two 120V 20A (5-20R) GFCI duplex outlets and two 120V 30A (L5-30R) duplex outlets.
This Powermate generator isn’t quite RV Ready, but it has an L5-30R receptacle that makes it easy to connect to an RV with an L5-30P to TT-30R adapter.Features
The data center on the PM4500DF’s control panel is one of its many features.
It tells you how many hours it has been running for and lets you keep track of its activity and status. The generator has a built-in fuel gauge that makes it easy to see at a glance how much gas is in the tank. When it comes to safety, this product has a circuit breaker for overheating and an automatic shut-off for low oil, so you can use it without any worries. The Powermate PM4500DF package comes with oil and a propane hose, as well as the basic paperwork and an owner’s manual that will help you get the generator going right away.Mobility
The Powermate PM4500DF is 26.3 inches long, 22.9 inches wide, and 21.5 inches high.
It has a typical open frame design that makes it stable and allows it to be raised above ground level. The generator is built to work well outside and in rough places.Even though the generator is technically considered to “be portable,” it will be very hard to move it by hand because it weighs 109 pounds (in the sense that it is movable).Still, once it is on the ground, its 8-inch-diameter wheel kit and folding handle can easily solve the problem of low mobility and make it easy to move the device.Product Videos

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
While Powermate’s past is a little mysterious, they assert to have been selling portable generators and other outdoor power equipment for over 40 years.
In 2009, they negotiated a contract for what they refer to as “collaboration,” but is actually ownership with the Italian company PRAMAC, which Generac later purchased from PRAMAC in 2014.Warranty Information
There is a warranty on the Powermate PM4500DF for up to 3 years.
This warranty may not cover all parts of the generator or may only cover certain parts.Check out Powermate’s warranty policies if you want to know more about the warranty on Powermate generators. You can also call their customer service line at 1-800-445-1805.
