The Predator 8750 has a gasoline-powered OHV 4-stroke engine with 420 cc and 12 hp. It has an output voltage of 120/240V and a running wattage of 7,000W and a peak wattage of 8,750W. This inverter generator has a noise level of 75 dBA, which is just a little louder than a dishwasher. It can be started with a pull-start mechanism or a convenient, easy-to-use electric starter (battery included). With a full tank, the 8750 can run for up to 15 hours (using about 0.39 GPH of fuel), because it can hold 5.9 gallons of fuel. The 8750 makes a clean sine wave with a Total Harmonic Distortion of 3%, so it’s safe to plug sensitive electronics into an AC outlet (THD).
Two 120V 20A (5-20R) GFCI duplex outlets and a 120/240V 30A (L14-30R) receptacle are on the control panel. It also has 3 DC outlets: two 5V USB ports (USB-A) that make it easy to charge devices like cell phones or tablets, and a 12V 10A receptacle that makes it easy to charge your batteries. The 8750 is ready for a transfer switch because it has a twist-lock L14-30R receptacle. You can connect it to a breaker box to power your home when the power goes out.
The 8750’s control panel has a handy meter that shows voltage, frequency, and lifetime hours. This makes it easy to keep track of its status and activity. In addition to this information, the light indicators will tell you when the generator is ready, when the oil level is too low, and when the generator is overloaded. The inverter generator has a built-in fuel gauge that makes it easy to see at a glance how much gas is in the tank. For safety, the generator has an automatic low oil shut-off and an overload protection (circuit breaker), so you can use it without worrying. The Predator’s CO SECURETM carbon monoxide detector is also helpful for the unit. While the generator is running, this system checks how much CO gas is building up and turns off the engine if it gets too high. It’s a nice extra safety measure, but don’t forget to take your generator outside at all times.Along with basic instructions and an owner’s manual, which will help you get the generator going right away, the Predator 8750 comes with a battery charger, a funnel, and a tool kit.
The Predator 8750 is made with a traditional, open frame that gives it support and lets it be lifted off the ground. The device was made to work well in harsh conditions and in the great outdoors. The generator is technically “portable” because it can be moved, but at 151 pounds, it may be hard to move it by hand. But its wheels (dia:10) make up for the fact that it is hard to turn “) and a folding handle that makes it easy to move once it’s on the ground.
The following charts show how some of the most important features of the Predator-8750-57480 compare to other generators with the same power output.
**Fuel efficiency is give in relative percentage, 0 being the lowest and 1 being the highest value. Please see below specification table for actual value.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
