The WEN 56455i has a 212cc OHV 4-stroke engine that runs on gasoline and can put out 120V. It has a running power of 3,500W and a maximum power of 4,500W. Also, since it can work in parallel (but doesn’t come with a parallel kit), this power can be increased by connecting it to another unit that works with it. The inverter generator makes 57 dBA of noise, which is less than a refrigerator. It has a simple pull-start mechanism and a simple and elegant electric starter (battery included). With 2.2 gallons of fuel, the 56455i can run for about 8.5 hours at 0.5 load when the tank is full (fuel consumption is approximately 0.26 GPH). The 56455i makes a clean sine wave with a Total Harmonic Distortion of 1.2%, so it is safe to plug sensitive electronics into the AC outlets (THD).
On the control panel, there are 3 AC outlets: a duplex 120V 20A (5-20R) outlet and a 120V 30A (TT-30R) outlet. It also has 3 DC outlets: a 12V 8A receptacle (like a cigarette lighter) that makes it easy to charge your batteries, and two 5V USB ports (USB-A) that make it easy to charge devices like cell phones and tablets. This WEN generator is ready for an RV because it has a TT-30R (TT stands for “Travel Trailer”) receptacle.
The control panel of the 56455i has a digital data center that tells you things like the lifetime run hours, fuel level, power output, voltage, and frequency. This helps you keep an eye on its activity and status. In addition to this information, the generator has a number of lights that tell you when it is ready, when it is too full, and when it needs more oil.The fuel shutoff feature stops the flow of fuel, which lets the 56455i use up the last of the fuel in the carburetor before turning off automatically. This helps prevent the buildup and blockages that can happen when fuel sits in the carburetor for too long. This makes the unit last longer and requires less maintenance. For safety, the generator has an overload protection (circuit breaker) and an automatic low oil shut-off, so you can use it without worrying. The WEN 56455i package comes with basic documentation and an owner’s manual that will help you start the generator right away.It also comes with a funnel and a tool kit.
The WEN 56455i is an inverter generator, and its closed design (L23.2 x W18 x H20.1 in) makes it look better than traditional devices with open frames. The design shown here is in line with the latest trends and is great for easy and fun use. With a dry weight of 99.2 lbs, the 56455i’s power can be used anywhere. Also, it’s easy to move once it’s on the floor because it has two wheels and a handle that folds up.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
Nick Anton started WEN Products, an American power tool manufacturer and distributor, in 1951.WEN Products says that its research in random orbital technology contributed to the creation of current chainsaws, soldering tools, and wet sharpeners. The Illinois-based corporation increased the range of power tools that were available through its distribution network, including presses, drills, and of course, power generators.WEN is a distributor, and the majority of the products in its inventory are branded imports from Asian manufacturers.
The WEN 56455i has a warranty that lasts up to 2 years. This warranty may not cover all parts of the generator or may only cover certain parts.Check out WEN’s warranty policies to learn more about the warranty on their generators. You can also call their customer service line at 1-847-429-9263.
