Description
With its dual-fuel technology, the WEN DF475X can run on either 120V or 240V, giving it power and flexibility. When powered by gasoline, it has a running wattage of 3,800W and a maximum wattage of 4,750W. When run on propane, it has a rated power of 3500 watts and a peak power of 4350 watts. It has a simple pull-start mechanism and a simple and elegant electric starter to get it going (battery included). With a fuel capacity of 4 gallons, the DF475X can run for about 11 hours at 0.5 load on gasoline (using about 0.36 GPH of fuel), or about 7 hours on a 20 lb tank (using about 0.67 GPH of propane).
Outlets
On the control panel, there are 3 AC outlets for: Duplex 120V 20A (5-20R); 120/240V 30A (L14-30R) receptacle.
Also, it has 1 DC outlet: a 12V 8A receptacle that looks like a cigarette lighter. This makes it easy to charge your batteries. The DF475X is ready for a transfer switch because it has a twist-lock L14-30R receptacle. You can connect it to a breaker box to power your home when the power goes out.Features
The generator has a built-in fuel gauge that makes it quick, easy, and convenient to check how much gas is in the machine.
As for safety features, the device has a circuit breaker for overheating and an automatic shut-off for low oil, so you can use it without worry. The unit also works well because WEN’s CO Watchdog can detect carbon monoxide. This system keeps track of how much CO gas is being made while the generator is running. If there is too much CO gas, the CO Watchdog system will turn off the generator automatically. It’s a nice extra safety measure, but don’t forget to always take your generator outside. The WEN DF475X comes with the usual paperwork and an owner’s manual , which lets you start it right away.It also comes with an oil and propane hose.Mobility
The WEN DF475X is 23.2 inches long, 17.5 inches wide, and 18.5 inches high.
Together with its traditional, open-frame design, they support the generator and allow it to be raised above the ground. This type of design is great for tough environments and heavy outdoor use.Even though this generator is technically “portable” in the sense that it can be moved, it is very hard to move by hand because it weighs 105.8 pounds. But its wheels and folding handle make it easier to move once it’s on the floor.Product Videos

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
Nick Anton started WEN Products, an American power tool manufacturer and distributor, in 1951.
WEN Products says that its research in random orbital technology contributed to the creation of current chainsaws, soldering tools, and wet sharpeners. The Illinois-based corporation increased the range of power tools that were available through its distribution network, including presses, drills, and of course, power generators.WEN is a distributor, and the majority of the products in its inventory are branded imports from Asian manufacturers.Warranty Information
The WEN DF475X has a warranty that lasts up to 2 years.
This warranty may not cover all parts of the generator or may only cover certain parts.Check out WEN’s warranty policies to learn more about the warranty on their generators. You can also call their customer service line at 1-847-429-9263.
