With its dual-fuel technology, the Westinghouse WGen3600DF can provide 120V power and can be used in many different ways. When it is running on gasoline, it has a running wattage of 3,600W and a peak wattage of 4,650W. When run by propane, it has a rated power of 3240 watts and a peak power of 4180 watts. The generator is meant to make 68 dBA of noise (a little lower than background music). It has both a simple pull-start mechanism and an electric starter that is easy to use and convenient (battery included). For even more convenience, you can also start the WGen3600DF from a distance (key fob included). With a fuel capacity of 4 gallons, the WGen3600DF can run for up to 14 hours on a full tank of gasoline (fuel consumption is approximately 0.29 GPH). It can last up to 16.5 hours if you use propane (on a 20 lbs tank – propane consumption around 0.28 GPH). Since the WGen3600DF has a THD of about 23%, it is best not to use it to power electronics that are sensitive to noise.
On the control panel, there are 4 AC outlets for: Duplex 120V 20A (5-20R); 120V 30A (L5-30R) receptacle; 120V 30A (TT-30R) receptacle. This Westinghouse generator is ready for an RV because it has a TT-30R plug, which stands for “Travel Trailer”.
The generator has a built-in fuel gauge that makes it easy to see at a glance how much gas is in the tank. For safety, the generator has an automatic low oil shut-off and an overload protection (circuit breaker), so you can use it without worrying. The Westinghouse WGen3600DF comes with oil, a tool kit, a battery charger, a key fob, a propane hose, and a funnel. It also comes with basic instructions and an owner’s manual to help you get started right away. You can also buy a storage cover that is made by the company.
The Westinghouse WGen3600DF is 23.3 inches long, 22.8 inches wide, and 21.3 inches high.It has a typical open frame design that makes it stable and allows it to be raised above ground level. The design works well in rough places and for hard outdoor use.Even though the generator is technically considered to “be portable,” it will be very hard to move it by hand because it weighs 120 pounds (in the sense that it is movable). But this lack of maneuverability is made up for by its 8-inch wheel kit and folding handle, which make it easy to move once it’s on the ground.
The following charts show how some of the most important features of the Westinghouse-WGen3600DF compare to other generators with the same power output.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
The Westinghouse Electric Corporation was established in 1886, and its heritage business, Westinghouse Outdoor Power Equipment, is situated in the US.The Westinghouse name continues to be the brand name for many of its electrical solutions, which range throughout the scale from power plants to portable generators, despite the fact that the firm has been acquired and integrated into the American CBS.The primary product of Westinghouse’s Outdoor Power Equipment division, portable generators were previously produced by Westpro Power Systems, which Midwest Equipment acquired in 2016.Under the Westinghouse brand, lawn tools including trimmers and blowers are also offered for sale.Their entire line of items is American-designed.However, according to a number of sites, they are frequently made in China.
There is a warranty on the Westinghouse WGen3600DF for up to 3 years. This warranty may not cover all parts of the generator or may only cover certain parts.Check out Westinghouse’s warranty policies if you want to know more about the warranty on Westinghouse generators. You can also call their customer service line at 1-855-944-3571.
