Description
With its dual-fuel technology, the Pulsar PG5250B is a powerful and versatile generator that can put out either 120V or 240V. Even though it runs on gasoline, it has a running wattage of 4,250W and a peak wattage of 5,250W. It runs on propane and has a rated power of 3850 watts and a starting power of 4750 watts. With Pulsar’s patented Switch & Go technology, you can switch from propane to gasoline or from gasoline to propane while the generator is running. The generator can make up to 72 dBA of noise (A tad noisier than a vacuum cleaner). It has a pull-start mechanism, which is a common way to start a motor. With a fuel capacity of 4 gallons, the PG5250B can run for about 12 hours at 0.5 load on gasoline (fuel consumption is approximately 0.33 GPH). If you use propane instead, it can run for about 13 hours on a 20-pound tank (propane uses about 0.36 GPH).
Outlets
The control panel has 4 AC outlets: a duplex 120V 20A (5-20R) outlet, a 120V 30A (TT-30R) outlet, and a 120/240V 30A (L14-30R) outlet.
This Pulsar generator is RV ready because it has a TT-30R plug.TT stands for “Travel Trailer”.The PG5250B also has a twist-lock L14-30R receptacle, which makes it ready for a transfer switch. This means that it can power your home when the power goes out, as it can be easily connected to your breaker box.Features
The PG5250B’s control panel has a handy meter that shows voltage, frequency, and lifetime hours.
This makes it easy to keep track of its status and activity. The generator has a built-in fuel gauge that makes it quick, easy, and convenient to check how much gas is in the machine. When it comes to safety, this product has a circuit breaker for overheating and an automatic shut-off for low oil, so you can use it without any worries.Pulsar packed the PG5250B with the usual paperwork and owner’s manual to get you up and running quickly. They also included a propane hose.Mobility
The Pulsar PG5250B is 23.2 inches long, 17 inches wide, and 17.8 inches high.
Together with its traditional, open-frame design, they support the generator and allow it to be raised above the ground. The design shown is great for the outdoors and other rough places.Even though this generator is technically “portable” in the sense that it can be moved, it weighs 110 pounds, which makes it very hard to move by hand.It is hard to move around, but its wheel kit (dia:10) makes it possible “Once it’s on the floor, it will be easier to move because of the handle that folds down.Product Videos

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
A good selection of air compressors, pressure washers, and of course generators are available from Pulsar Products Inc., a firm situated in California, USA.
Their models vary from 1,2 kW to 10 kW and include dual fuel and RV-Ready designs. The US is home to a number of Pulsar facilities, including two distribution centers, one in Illinois and one in California. However, it appears that Asia is where they outsource the production of their goods.Warranty Information
A warranty covers the Pulsar PG5250B for up to 2 years.
This warranty may not cover all parts of the generator or may only cover certain parts.Pulsar generators come with a warranty that you can learn more about by calling Pulsar Customer Support at 1-866-591-8921.
