Description
A 389 cc Honda GX390 EFI OHV 4-stroke engine powers the Honda EU7000iS. It gives out 120/240V, runs on gasoline, and has a running wattage of 5,500W and a peak wattage of 7,000W. Also, since it can work in parallel (but doesn’t come with a parallel kit), this power can be increased by connecting it to another unit that works with it. This unit is on our list of the 10 quietest portable generators because it has a low noise level of 52 dBA, which is just a little louder than a refrigerator. It can be started with a simple pull-start mechanism or a simple and elegant electric starter (battery included). To make things even easier, the EU7000iS can be turned on from a distance (via the My Generator App ). The Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) system makes the engine more reliable, uses less fuel, starts better, needs less maintenance, works better with stale fuel, and works better at higher altitudes. With 5.1 gallons of fuel, the EU7000iS can work for up to 16 hours on a full tank (fuel consumption is approximately 0.32 GPH). As the EU7000iS makes a clean sine wave with a Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of less than 3%, you can safely plug sensitive electronics into the AC outlets.
Outlets
Two 120V 20A (5-20R) GFCI duplexes, a 120/240V 30A (L14-30R) receptacle, and a 120V 30A (L5-30R) receptacle are all on the control panel.
Even though this Honda generator isn’t quite RV Ready, its L5-30R receptacle makes it easy to connect to an RV with an L5-30P to TT-30R adaptor. Also, the EU7000iS is ready for a transfer switch because it has a twist-lock L14-30R receptacle. This means that it is easy to connect to a breaker box and can power your home if the power goes out.Features
The EU7000iS has a digital iMonitorTM data center, which is part of its control panel.
It gives information about the voltage, power output, and lifetime run hours, so you can keep track of its status and activity. In addition to this information, the device’s lights will show if the generator is ready, if it is overloaded, or if it does not have enough oil.The inverter generator has a built-in fuel gauge that makes it easy to see at a glance how much gas is in the tank. For safety, the generator has an overload protection (circuit breaker) and an automatic low oil shut-off (Oil Alert®), so you can use it without worrying. In addition to the features already mentioned, the Honda EU7000iS comes with the usual paperwork and owner’s manual to get you started right away. You can buy a storage cover from the company separately.Mobility
The encased inverter generator design of the Honda EU7000iS (L33.4 x W27.6 x H28.4 in) makes it look better than any ordinary open frame product.
The design shown here is in line with the latest trends and is great for easy and fun use.Even though this generator is technically “portable” in the sense that it can be moved, it weighs 263.2 pounds, which makes it very hard to move by hand.Once it is on the ground, it can still be moved easily with the help of its wheels and folding handle.Product Videos
The following charts show how some of the most important features of the Honda-EU7000iS compare to other generators with the same power output.
**Fuel efficiency is give in relative percentage, 0 being the lowest and 1 being the highest value. Please see below specification table for actual value.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
The Japanese Honda Motor Company, founded in 1948, has built a reputation for regularly delivering high-quality engines, motorized vehicles, and equipment.
The business has built a solid name over the years in the power tool, motorbike, and vehicle industries.Since 1953, Honda’s power tool division has been manufacturing various power tools, such as tillers, mowers, blowers, sprayers, and of course, generators.Honda is still regarded as a legend among generator manufacturers even after the firm went worldwide and shifted the majority of its production from Japan to other Asian nations.Warranty Information
There is a warranty on the Honda EU7000iS for up to 3 years.
This warranty may not cover all parts of the generator or may only cover certain parts.Honda’s warranty policies can tell you more about how long the warranty on a Honda generator lasts. You can also call their customer service line at 1-770-497-6400.
