Description
A Briggs & Stratton OHV 4-stroke engine with 306 cc powers the Briggs & Stratton Q6500 QuietPower. It gives out 120/240V, runs on gasoline, and has a running wattage of 5,000W and a peak wattage of 6,500W. The pull-start mechanism on the inverter generator is simple and old-fashioned. It has a noise level of 66 dBA (less noisy than an office). The Q6500 QuietPower can run for up to 14 hours on a full tank of 5 gallons of gas (fuel consumption is approximately 0.36 GPH). The Q6500 QuietPower makes a clean sine wave. Its Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) is less than 3%, so you can safely plug sensitive electronics into its AC outlets.
Outlets
Two 120V 20A (5-20R) GFCI duplexes and a 120/240V 30A (L14-30R) receptacle are among the 5 AC outlets on the control panel.
In addition, it has two DC outlets and two 5V USB ports, which make it easy to charge devices like cell phones and tablets. The Q6500 QuietPower is ready for a transfer switch because it has a twist-lock L14-30R receptacle. You can connect it to a breaker box to power your home when the power goes out.Features
The status and activity of the Q6500 QuietPower can be easily checked on the control panel, which has LEDs that show both the amount of power being used and the number of hours the generator has been running.
In addition to this information, there are some lights that let you know right away if the generator is overloaded, if it is ready, or if the oil level is too low.The inverter generator has a built-in fuel gauge that makes it easy and quick to check the fuel level. The unit has Briggs & Stratton’s Quiet Power Technology (QPTTM), which makes it much quieter, uses less fuel, and puts out less pollution. When the switch on the control panel is turned ON, the engine speed goes up when electrical loads are added and down when they are taken away. For safety, the generator has an overload protection (circuit breaker) and an automatic low oil shut-off, so you can use it without worrying.Briggs & Stratton’s CO GuardTM carbon monoxide shutdown also works well with the Q6500 QuietPower. This new patent-pending technology uses complex algorithms to turn off the generator when dangerous levels of carbon monoxide build up in the area where the generator works. It’s a nice extra safety measure, but don’t forget to take your generator outside at all times. The Briggs & Stratton Q6500 QuietPower package comes with basic paperwork and an owner’s manual that will help you start the generator right away.It also comes with oil and a funnel. You can also buy a storage cover that is made by the company.Mobility
Since the Briggs & Stratton Q6500 QuietPower is an inverter generator, its closed design (L24.8 x W21.2 x H21.5 in) makes it look better than traditional devices with open frames.
The design fits with what’s popular now and is perfect for generating power for fun.Even though this device is technically portable (meaning it can be moved), it weighs 139 pounds and can be hard to move and use without special tools.Still, because it has two wheels that are 8 “Once the generator is on the ground, it is easy to move thanks to its wheels and telescoping handle, which make up for its lack of maneuverability.Product Videos

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
