A 420 cc Ducar OHV 4-stroke engine powers the Ford FG6250P. It gives out 120/240V, runs on gasoline, and has a running wattage of 5,250W and a peak wattage of 6,250W. The generator is meant to make 78 dBA of noise (less noisy than a dishwasher). It uses a simple, traditional pull-start mechanism to get going. With a full tank, the FG6250P can run for about 11 hours at 0.5 load on its 6.6-gallon fuel tank (fuel consumption is approximately 0.6 GPH).
Two 120V 20A (5-20R) GFCI duplexes, a 120V 30A (L5-30R) receptacle, and a 120/240V 30A (L14-30R) receptacle are on the control panel.Even though this Ford generator isn’t quite RV Ready, an L5-30P to TT-30R adapter makes it easy to connect it to an RV.The FG6250P is also transfer switch ready because it has a twist-lock L14-30R receptacle. You can easily connect it to your breaker box to power your home when the power goes out.
The FG6250P’s control panel has a digital data center that helps you keep track of its status and activity by telling you how many hours it has been running for.The generator has a built-in fuel gauge that makes it quick, easy, and convenient to find out how much gas is in it.From a safety point of view, the product has a circuit breaker for overload protection and an automatic shut-off for low oil, so you can use it without worry. The Ford FG6250P comes with the usual paperwork and an owner’s manual , which lets you start it right away.It also comes with a funnel, oil, and a tool kit.
The Ford FG6250P has a traditional, open frame that is 30 in long, 29.5 in wide, and 25 in high. This gives it stability and lets the generator be raised above ground level. The generator is built to work well outside and in rough places.Even though the generator is technically considered to “be portable,” it will be very hard to move it by hand because it weighs 167.6 pounds (in the sense that it is movable). But its wheel kit (dia:10) makes up for the fact that it is hard to move around “) and a folding handle that makes it easy to move once it’s on the ground.
We could find any videos of the product at the time of writing. Please search YouTube for any update.
The following charts show how some of the most important features of the Ford-FG6250P compare to other generators with the same power output.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
Ford is mostly associated with Henry Ford’s Ford Motor Company, a storied US automobile company established in 1903, but its trademark can also be seen on a variety of other products, including power equipment.Affordable portable generators, water pumps, and pressure washers are available at Ford Power Equipment.Although they are manufactured and supplied by Pulsar Inc., which has a manufacturing facility in Asia, generators are actually licensed under the Ford trademark. The business does, however, guarantee excellent customer service and pre-delivery testing, and customers generally give their products very positive evaluations.
There is a warranty on the Ford FG6250P for up to 2 years. This warranty may not cover all parts of the generator or may only cover certain parts.Ford’s customer service number is 1-866-591-8921 if you want to find out more about the warranty on a Ford generator.
