Description
The Genmax GM2000i is made with a 79.7 cc Dinking OHV 4-stroke engine that runs on gasoline. With a 120V output, it has a running wattage of 1,600W and a peak wattage of 2,000W. Also, since it can work in parallel (but doesn’t come with a parallel kit), this power can be doubled by connecting it to another unit that works with it. The noise level of the inverter generator is set at 58 dBA (lower decibel levels than rain). It has a pull-start mechanism, which is a common way to start a motor. With a full tank, the GM2000i can run for up to 10 hours on its 1.1-gallon fuel tank (fuel consumption is approximately 0.11 GPH). The GM2000i makes a clean sine wave with a Total Harmonic Distortion of less than 3%, so it’s safe to plug sensitive electronics into AC outlets (THD).

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
