The gasoline-powered 79 cc OHV 4-stroke engine is the heart of the Powerhorse LC2000i. It has a 120V output and a running power of 1,600W and a peak power of 2,000W. Also, the generator can be connected to a second unit to make more power because it comes with a parallel kit. The noise level of the inverter generator is 52 dBA, which is just a little louder than a conversation at home. It has a simple pull-start mechanism. Due to its 1.1 gallon fuel tank, the LC2000i can run for up to 8.5 hours on a full tank (using about 0.13 GPH of fuel). The LC2000i makes a clean sine wave with a Total Harmonic Distortion of less than 1.5%, so it’s safe to plug sensitive electronics into AC outlets (THD).
The control panel features the following 3 AC outlets: Duplex 120V 20A (5-20R); 120V 30A (L5-30R) receptacle.Even though this Powerhorse generator is not RV Ready, an L5-30P to TT-30R adaptor can be used to easily connect it to an RV.
The lights tell you if the generator doesn’t have enough oil, if it’s overloaded, or if it’s ready to use. When it comes to safety, this product has a circuit breaker for overheating and an automatic shut-off for low oil, so you can use it without any worries. The Powerhorse LC2000i comes with basic instructions and an owner’s manual to help you start the generator quickly. It also comes with a tool kit and a funnel, among other things.
The encased inverter generator design of the Powerhorse LC2000i (L19.6 x W11.2 x H17.1 in) makes it look better than any ordinary open frame product. The generator has a modern look and is easy to use when generating power for fun.The LC2000i is a portable generator that weighs only 46.3 lbs.A single person should be able to move it around easily and get power wherever they go.The case is also made with a handle that makes it easy to carry and adds to its convenience.
The following charts show how some of the most important features of the Powerhorse-LC2000i compare to other generators with the same power output.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
The Northern Tool & Equipment Company Inc.owns and distributes gas-powered outdoor equipment under the Powerhorse brand name through its physical stores and website.Among the gas- and electric-powered instruments offered by Powerhorse are pressure washers, wood chippers and shredders, log splitters, electric generators, and inverters.Water pumps and engines are also available in the product line. The tagline of the company is “Power You Can Depend On”.Although they are produced in China, Powerhorse generators are designed, developed, and tested in Minnesota.
A warranty covers the Powerhorse LC2000i for up to 2 years. This warranty may not cover all parts of the generator or may only cover certain parts.Powerhorse Customer Support can be reached at 1-866-443-2576 for more information about the warranty on Powerhorse generators.
