Description
The WEN 56125i has a WEN OHV 4-stroke engine that is 60 cc. It has a 120V output, runs on gas, and has a running wattage of 1,000W and a peak wattage of 1,250W. Also, since it can work in parallel (but doesn’t come with the WEN 56421 Parallel kit), its power can be doubled if it is connected to a second unit that works with it. This unit is on our list of the 10 quietest portable generators because it has a low noise rating of 51 dBA, which is just a little louder than a conversation at home. It starts with a traditional pull-start. With a full tank, the 56125i can run for about 5 hours at 0.5 load on its 0.69-gallon fuel tank (fuel consumption is approximately 0.14 GPH). The 56125i makes a clean sine wave. With a Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of less than 1.2%, you can safely plug sensitive electronics into its AC outlets.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
