The WEN GN625iX has a 301cc OHV 4-stroke engine that runs on gasoline and can put out 120/240V. It has a running power of 5,000W and a maximum power of 6,250W. It has a pull-start mechanism, which is a common way to start a motor. With 4.2 gallons of fuel, the GN625iX can run for about 8.1 hours at 0.5 load when the tank is full (fuel consumption is approximately 0.52 GPH). The GN625iX makes a clean sine wave with a Total Harmonic Distortion of 1.5%, so it is safe to plug sensitive electronics into AC outlets (THD).
The control panel has 6 AC outlets: two 120V 20A (5-20R) duplexes, a 120V 30A (TT-30R) plug, and a 120/240V 30A (L14-30R) plug.It also has 2 DC outlets: two 5V USB ports (USB-A) that make it easy to charge devices like cell phones or tablets. This WEN generator is ready for an RV because it has a TT-30R plug (TT stands for “Travel Trailer”).The GN625iX is also ready for a transfer switch because it has a twist-lock L14-30R receptacle. If the power goes out, you can easily connect it to a breaker box and keep your home running.
The GN625iX’s control panel has a handy meter that shows voltage, frequency, and lifetime hours. This helps you keep track of its status and activity. In addition to this information, the lights will tell you when the generator is ready, when the oil level is too low, and when the generator is overloaded. The inverter generator has a built-in fuel gauge, which makes it quick, easy, and convenient to check how much gas is in the machine. In terms of safety, the generator can be used without worry because it has an automatic shut-off for low oil and an overload protection (circuit breaker). The unit also works well because WEN’s CO Watchdog can detect carbon monoxide. This system keeps track of how much CO gas is being made while the generator is running. If there is too much CO gas, the CO Watchdog system will turn off the generator automatically. It’s a nice extra safety measure, but don’t forget to always take your generator outside. The WEN GN625iX comes with basic instructions and an owner’s manual to help you start the generator quickly. It also comes with two altitude kits and a tool kit, among other things. You can also buy a storage cover that is made by the company.
The WEN GN625iX is 27 inches long, 25 inches wide, and 24 inches high.Together with its traditional, open-frame design, they support the generator and allow it to be raised above the ground. This type of design is great for tough environments and heavy outdoor use.Even though this generator is technically “portable” in the sense that it can be moved, it is very hard to move by hand because it weighs 119.5 pounds. But once it’s on the floor, its wheels and folding handle make it easier to move.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
Nick Anton started WEN Products, an American power tool manufacturer and distributor, in 1951.WEN Products says that its research in random orbital technology contributed to the creation of current chainsaws, soldering tools, and wet sharpeners. The Illinois-based corporation increased the range of power tools that were available through its distribution network, including presses, drills, and of course, power generators.WEN is a distributor, and the majority of the products in its inventory are branded imports from Asian manufacturers.
The WEN GN625iX has a warranty that lasts up to 2 years. This warranty may not cover all parts of the generator or may only cover certain parts.Check out WEN’s warranty policies to learn more about the warranty on their generators. You can also call their customer service line at 1-847-429-9263.
